Zelenskiy says US bipartisan support encourages the Ukrainian nation and troops.
After speaking on the phone with U.S. President Joe Biden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that the country’s bipartisan support is “incredibly encouraging” for Ukraine and its military.
In their phone chat on Thursday, Zelenskiy and Biden discussed military assistance for Kyiv. According to a source familiar with Biden’s plans, he would ask Congress for $100 billion in extra spending, of which $60 billion would go to Ukraine and $14 billion to Israel.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February of last year, the U.S. has been Kyiv’s main source of aid. According to the source, half of the $60 billion Biden is asking for in Ukraine would be used to replace and update American weaponry.
Zelenskiy posted on Friday on X, formerly known as Twitter, “The unwavering bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States is incredibly encouraging for all of our warriors and for our entire nation.”
“America’s investment in Ukraine’s defense will ensure long-term security for all of Europe and the world,” he stated.
Bipartisan support is a rare and potent force in the complicated realm of geopolitics. In 2023, the United States’ steadfast support for Ukraine will have far-reaching effects, including developing closer diplomatic ties, providing financial assistance, and protecting Ukraine’s armed forces.
This assistance also provides hope and inspiration for the Ukrainian people, demonstrating the value of cooperation and togetherness during trying times. As we look to the future, this support from both parties greatly affects Ukraine’s standing in the world and serves as a symbol of global collaboration for peace and stability.
