The dynamics of parenthood certainly have changed over the last few decades. Things that were considered conventional parenting methods are frowned upon today. The constant that still remains is that most parents do have the well-being of their child in their deepest interest.

However, the extent to which a parent may go to for bringing out the best in their children is still quite debatable. One such story of a mother of a 4 year-old from New York is certainly one to debate about.

A 4 year-old child was misbehaving, so his mother decided to discipline him by tying him up to a bush. Certainly it is a very odd way to punish a child. The woman from Rockland County is now facing serious charges for committing such actions.

The woman, Mery Isabel Castro, who is 22 years-old, went off and left her son still tied to the bush, as discovered when the child was found.

The police Chief of Spring Valley, Paul Modica said, “Her child, this 4 1/2-year-old boy, did not want to go into the apartment. So she tied him to the bush until she could get him into the apartment.”

He went on to say that is was very troubling. Modica said, “I mean, there were so many other things she could have done with the child.”

Castro was bailed out after she appeared at the Spring Valley court for $2,500 by her sister.
