Wall St opens lower as Amazon drags, inflation worries persist
After Amazon warned of a cloud business slowdown, Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Friday. Strong inflation data reinforced bets that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates again next week.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI) opened at 33,797.43, down 28.73 points, or 0.08%. The S&P 500 (.SPX) began down 5.72 points, or 0.14%, at 4,129.63, while the Nasdaq Composite (.IXIC) fell 24.69 points, or 0.20%, to 12,117.54.
