For a one-day Nordic summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in Helsinki, Finland.

On Wednesday, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with the four Nordic prime ministers who are congregating at Sauli Niinistö’s residence in Finland. They will talk about their assistance to Ukraine.

Following Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022, the Nordic nations of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland have largely united behind Ukraine.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stre, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Icelandic Prime Minister Katrn Jakobsdóttir, and Finnish President Niinistö are in attendance at the meeting at the Finnish Presidential Palace in Helsinki.

According to Niinistö, the summit’s topics will include Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the Nordic nations’ ongoing support for Ukraine, changes in Ukraine’s relations with NATO and the European Union, and the country’s peace effort.

According to a statement from Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen, “there is still an urgent need for military support to ensure that the Ukrainians stand as strong as possible in the fight against Russia.” We must support Ukraine’s reconstruction while preserving the possibility of a peaceful resolution to the conflict and a just future.
