It appears as if ISIS is at it again . Gunmen killed at least 19 people including 17 foreign tourists in an attack on the National Bardo Museum in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia,. even more troubling is the fact that some of the shooters may still be at large . Although the world is used to ISIS beheading journalists and taping them , but these types of Al Qaeda like attacks are new from ISIS.
ISIS has been on the rise for the past year , and the attacks on The Bardo Museum in Tunis is one of their most deadly attacks to date. The specific motive for the gunmen is still unknown , what is further unknown is why they attacked a museum .Tunisian security forces killed two attackers as at the Bardo Museum in Tunis, Prime Minister Habib Essid said. But the death toll is still not 100% confirmed and can potentially climb.
Among the different tourists killed were Polish , Italian , Spanish and German tourists. The day was filled with horror all around as others who were near the museum scrambled for cover . Many believe including Essid that ISIS targeted the museums in an attempt to destroy the history and art of Tunisia.
Although Tunisia has faced terror attacks before , this was one of the deadliest. Conspiracy theorists claimed that the attack was actually backed by Israel and had a direct connection to the re election of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Obviously no proof has been submitted to support that theory.
