Syria Undergoes a Terrible Attack, Will the U.S. Intervene?

Tragic Syrian Chemical Attack Occurs, and Trump is in charge of deciding on whether or not to Retaliate

Recently, there was a catastrophic chemical attack in Syria, in which over 70 people died, including innocent children. There are gruesome videos and pictures of people lying on the street, lifeless, many white foam coming from their mouths and nostrils. Patients accumulated in the hospital with burning eyes and various breathing problems. Syrian civilians suffocated as a result of this attack, and as of now, President Bashar al-Assad is to blame.

Trump has outwardly shown his disgust and disdain for the events that have occurred within Syria lately. He publically addressed this through…..Twitter. He tweeted, “Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price…….to pay. Open area immediately for medical help and verification. Another humanitarian disaster for no reason whatsoever. SICK!” This insinuates an intention of the president to intervene and possibly locking the US troops into retaliating.

However, recently, Trump was determined to remove the US troops out of Syria within the next couple of months. Now, there is this awkward contradiction between Trump’s outward, public, remarks and confusion among the US and what he intends to do about this.

Furthermore, he even tweeted a criticism of Obama’s hesitation to “cross the stated Red Line In the Sand, [enabling an end to the Syrian disaster a long time ago.]” Therefore, it would make him look foolish to not do something immediately. This, and the fact that he automatically pin-pointed Russia and Iran for the attack gives Trump more the reason to act quickly. So what will he decide? What will be the fate of the troops within Syria, and the justice of the lives lost not only this week, but for the past 7 years? Maybe we’ll find out in a tweet tomorrow…..
