Anastasia Vashukevich, a self-described sex expert and an escort service worker from Belarus has been detained in Thailand over the weekend. She is currently asking for help from the United States to guarantee her safety with the claim that she holds significant information about the relationship between President Trump and Russia, specifically regarding the much-contended presidential election of 2016.

According to Russian media, Vashukevich was captured during her “sex training” seminar offered to Russian tourists in Thailand, where participants paid for over $600 each and attended the courses in a five-day span. This was described by the Russian embassy as an “illegal training session”, which will put her on trial and deportation.

Vashukevich was also allegedly sexually involved with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire and went on a yacht trip with him as well as the Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko in August of 2016. Deripaska was the employer of Paul Manafort, who was the former Trump campaign manager, shedding light on perhaps unknown ties between the two powers. Manafort was also accused of asking a colleague to give information about the Presidential election of 2016 to Deripaska, further complicating the situation.

Vashukevich’s fame sprang from her film with Deripaska and Prikhodko, the footage of which was released by the Russian opposition leader, Alexei Navalny last month. Navalny has accused Deripaska of having bribed Prikhodko with this luxury yacht getaway along with the sex services based on the footage recorded. However, the video he released revealed no evidence to back his claim that Deripaska and Prikhodko have any linkage to the Kremlin and President Trump.

On the other hand, these accusations were opposed vehemently by Prikhodko, who called Nalvany a liar and a “political loser”, and proceeded on suing Vashukevich for the violation of his private information. Some of Vashukevich’s posts have already been removed at the request of a court to Instagram. This situation has become one man’s words against another’s, invoking much contention and controversy.

Vachukevich further rebuked the statements of Russian Embassy, stating that her arrest was a payback for the video of the yacht trip and plead via her Instagram post that her case is one of “political repressions”. In her post, she continuously appealed to the US for help and to save her from Russia. She also mentioned that she has gotten sick in the jail cell, begging mercy from the U.S. journalists and intelligence.

However, Vashukevich, who goes by the alias Nasty Rybka, has failed to back her claim regarding Russian interference with U.S. presidential election in 2016, while she claimed herself to be a crucial key and the “only witness and the missing link” between finding out about the truth regarding Russia and the U.S. elections. She has used the information she allegedly has as a leverage to appeal to the U.S. to ensure her wellbeing and safety in Thailand, yet her words’ credibility is put into question by her lack of evidence.

The US intelligence has yet to confirm or provide an official response towards Vachukevich’s appeal for help, while she continues to be in custody in Thailand on Tuesday.
