Washington had a field day when the discovered that Hillary Clinton was using her own personal email account while serving as secretary of state. When it was then discovered that her personal email was wiped clean, a lot of politicians and officials started to question what the potential presidential candidate had to hide by using not revealing this information.

In recent news it has been reported that the congressional committee probing the Benghazi attacks has issued a requested that Clinton sits down for an interview to discuss the missing data, and her actions.

“This committee is left with no alternative but to request Secretary Clinton appear before this committee for a transcribed interview to better understand decisions the secretary made relevant to the creation, maintenance, retention, and ultimately deletion of public records,” exclaims Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy, who sent to formal request to Clinton’s lawyer.

The committee wants Clinton to answer for the 30,000 emails that were deleted during her time in office, even though Clinton claims they were “personal” emails.

In the letter to Clinton’s lawyer, Gowdy continued by saying, “The committee believes a transcribed interview would best protect Secretary Clinton’s privacy, the security of the information queried, and the public’s interest in ensuring this committee has all information needed to accomplish the task set before it.”

Clinton has yet to release her bid for running for president, and many are wondering whether or not this situation is the cause of that. Gowdy is eager to discuss the Benghazi emails with Clinton, but will be only asking her about the personal emails that are not accounted for.

Gowdy has given Clinton until May 1 to answer his request for an interview.
