Kremlin: South Korean arms for Ukraine would signify involvement in conflict

On Wednesday, after President Yoon Suk Yeol opened the door to South Korean arms transfers to Ukraine, the Kremlin warned that doing so would make Seoul an active participant in the conflict.

Unlike the United States and its European allies, South Korea has refrained from deploying weaponry to Ukraine despite denouncing Russia’s incursion and providing economic and humanitarian aid to Kyiv.

Yoon stated on Tuesday that Seoul might consider arming Kyiv in the event of a large new attack against Ukrainian civilians in an interview with Reuters ahead of his travel to Washington next week.

“Unfortunately, Seoul has taken a rather unfriendly position in this whole story,” Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters.

They’re going to keep trying to drag more and more nations into the fray. However, the beginning of arms deliveries will inferentially signify a new phase of involvement in this fight.

Dmitry Medvedev, a former Russian president and close confidant of President Vladimir Putin who routinely makes aggressive comments about Russia’s military action in Ukraine, has warned that Russia could respond by delivering advanced weapons to North Korea.

I wonder how the people of South Korea will react when they learn that their partners in the DPRK (North Korea) have access to the newest generation of Russian weapons. According to Medvedev’s Telegram message.
