Kim Jong Un: His Days Could be Numbered

A former diplomat, Thae Yong Ho, escaped North Korea, describing the situation as oppressive and assuring that the corruption in North Korea will soon catch up and bring the regime down. Thae Yong Ho was a former minister at the North Korean Embassy in London; he was the highest-level North Korean diplomat to defect when he left with his family in August of 2016. Thae says “I am sure that more defections of my colleagues will take place, since North Korea is already on a slippery slope.”

Thae’s sons learned about life in Britain and started asking questions regarding North Korea’s laws banning the use of the internet and the rampant acts of executions. Thae reportedly told his sons that he is going to “cut the chains of slavery and you are free men.”  They are now living happily and are “now feeling the true sense of freedom.”

Thae Yong Ho revealed that Kim Jong Un has plans to meet with the newly elected POTUS Donald Trump. He says that he had high hopes for the new leader of North Korea until he started to execute officials. Thae says “If North Koreans are able to obtain more information about their country’s situation; it could trigger a public uprising against Kim’s regime.”

Kim Jong Un has been under heavy pressure by the international community to end his threats to South Korea and the US and focus more on feeding his people. The situation in North Korea is a cause for concern by human rights organizations; the leader would rather put all of the money into failed missiles than food on his people’s tables. The US has been asking for China to increase pressure on Kim’s regime to stop the acts of aggression. His regime can fall in two ways, first by his people. If the North Korean people understand the true nature of their country as Thae has said, then they will revolt. Second, if North Korea acts on its aggression by firing one of their ICMB’s at South Korea, Japan, or the US they will surely face a stronger counter act as some say in this scenario North Korea could be wiped off the map.
