Israelis recount terrified flight as Hamas gunmen attack dance party.
On Friday night, Arik Nani celebrated his 26th birthday by attending a dance party in southern Israel. However, when missiles screamed above and people sought to run, Hamas militants shot them down. As a result, Arik Nani ended up fleeing a bloodbath.
Thousands of young people attended the Nature Party, which was held close to Kibbutz Re’im and close to Gaza. It was one of the first places that Palestinian militants, who entered Israel early on Saturday morning as part of the worst attack on the country in decades, targeted.
“I heard shots from every direction; they were firing at us from both sides,” he told Reuters. “Everyone was escaping while being unsure of what to do. Complete anarchy reigned.
Partygoers fled whichever way they could as rocket fire erupted around them.
“At one stage me and a friend got into a car with people we didn’t know and we just jumped into a car with lots of people and started to drive,” Zohar Maariv, 23, said. They escaped the burning automobile on foot and hid for many hours before being found. But Matan, her lover who had worked at the event, was still nowhere to be seen.
At least 700 Israelis were slaughtered, and scores more were kidnapped and taken to Gaza in actions that shocked the nation, which had long taken pride in its incredibly effective military and security forces.
According to Israeli media, emergency responders found 260 dead at the Nature Party alone.
“Only this morning did I understand the scale of what happened—that what had happened was not only at the party; it’s the whole south on fire,” Maariv stated.
After spending hours fleeing, Nani and his companion eventually arrived at a shelter, where he overheard terrifying tales from other fugitives. “People speaking about murder they saw in front of their eyes, someone who saw an entire kidnapped family and a small girl who was murdered,” he stated.
Israeli planes have constantly bombed Gaza since the assault began, killing more than 400 Palestinians, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised an extraordinary reaction.
Nani continued to experience what others who were unable to flee were experiencing.
Along the road, I encountered many horrific things and individuals that I wanted to assist but could not. People who needed anything, he added, “people who were left behind.
Noa Argamani and her partner Avinatan Or also attended the party, but they could not return home. “WE STARTED TEXTING”
Following the release of a video showing Noa being taken away on the back of a motorcycle while begging with and reaching out to her boyfriend, who was being marched alongside on foot, they have now been recognized among the scores of Israelis who appear to be kept hostage in Gaza.
People began attempting to call friends and family as the missiles began to fly in the early hours of Saturday, and warning sirens began to play throughout southern and central Israel.
According to a buddy, Amit Parpara, “We started texting everyone,” he told Reuters. He claimed that while other partygoers were able to leave in their automobiles, Noa and Avinatan were initially inaccessible until he received a text message personally.
“She texted me her live location and a message that said, ‘I hope someone can come save us,'” stated the man.
He claimed to have seen pictures of the two people waiting for help in a hole while hiding.
Noa Argamani’s father, Yaakov Argamani, told Channel 12 news that he had verified his daughter’s identity after seeing the video of her being transported away on the motorbike.
She was in such fear. I always tried to protect her, but I was powerless now.
