Leading figures from the Palestinian terrorist groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad met with the president of Lebanon’s Hezbollah. They reported on Wednesday that they discussed what their coalition needed to do to “achieve a real victory for the resistance.”

Along the Israeli-Lebanese border, the heavily armed Hezbollah, a member of a regional organization with Iran’s support, has frequently exchanged gunfire with Israeli soldiers since Israel and Hamas went to war on October 7.

Hezbollah’s Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas deputy leader Saleh al-Arouri, and head of Islamic Jihad Ziad al-Nakhala attended the meeting, the group stated in a statement. The date of the meeting was not specified.

“An assessment was made of the international positions being taken and what the parties of the Axis of Resistance must do … to realise a real victory for the resistance in Gaza and Palestinian and to halt the brutal aggression,” Hezbollah stated.

“There was agreement on continuing the coordination.” Hezbollah declared on Wednesday that two more of its members had perished, bringing the total number of militants who had died in its ranks since the conflict’s beginning to 40.
