It is no news that George Takei of Star Trek fame is a huge activist especially on social media for the Japanese-American people and the LGBT community. Whenever a harsh or happy situation makes the news, Takei always posts his rational opinion on the topic to try and assuage the situation to the best of his ability.

Donald Trump on the other hand, is the business mogul and reality TV star of the show The Apprentice. His appearances on the media only manage to ruffle situations further.

Therefore, when two opposite personalities like Takei and Trump discuss an issue as delicate as “same-sex marriage,” the conversation is bound to grab the attention of the media.

Trump apparently said, “Well, I’m for traditional marriage.” After which Takei said, “We had a long discussion over lunch. We finally agreed to disagree — he was for traditional marriage, despite the fact that he’d been married three times. That is not traditional.”

Takei went on to describe the contrast of their opinions by saying,

“I approve of his three-time marriage because you want to find the person that you love, but the important thing here is to understand that our democracy is a dynamic democracy, and our Constitution is a living document, it’s not carved in stone.”
