Clinton Remains Silent As Democrats Grow Frustrated over Email Controversy

Several days ago it was discovered that former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was found using her own personal email address to exchange official government business.

Since the discovery of what has been reported as 55,000 pages worth of un-archived information and emails, Clinton has kept silent about the situation and has yet to reveal her side of the story. The controversy paired with Clinton’s silence has made a number of Democrats and Clinton’s peers to be on edge with the potential 2016 presidential candidate.

Growing tensions are rising according to The Wall Street Journal between the President’s aides who are discreetly voicing their stress and irritation towards having to speak for Clinton’s actions as she remains quiet. The political party is trying to tell the press and other government officials how they usually handle emails and their policies regarding the issue.

One of the senior officials is insisting that it is not their problem to handle and that, “If they screwed up on the emails, if we find out they skipped over her emails, then that will be a problem for them, it’ll be a scandal. But it’s not one that we’ll own.”

While the case has caused a great deal of attention and has received a lot of skepticism about the former Secretary of State, Clinton did not officially break any laws by choosing to use a personal email address, but it was a breach of protocol for the State Department and her actions did break the guidelines that they have established.

Other politicians like Rep. Trey Gowdy, claims that it’s not under Clinton’s discretion about what should be released on public record and what should not be. Gowdy told CBS, “It’s not up to Secretary Clinton to decide what’s a public record and what’s not. We’re not entitled to everything. I don’t want everything. I just want everything related to Libya and Benghazi.”
