Prosecutors claimed Friday that the tech executive charged with stabbing Cash App inventor Bob Lee to death in San Francisco confronted him earlier in the evening about his ties to the suspect’s younger sister.

On Thursday, Nima Momeni, 38, was arrested for killing Lee, who was found wandering around the city early that morning with three stab wounds. He died at a neighboring hospital.

Expand IT founder Momeni briefly appeared in a San Francisco courthouse on Friday, when a judge postponed his arraignment until April 25. Momeni was jailed without bail until then.

In court papers presented for the hearing, San Francisco prosecutors termed the murder “planned and deliberate” and claimed that Lee’s close friend “Witness 1” reported spending time with the Cash App founder, Momeni, and Momeni’s younger sister the day before the murder.

According to records, Witness 1 said Momeni asked Lee, 43, if his sister was “doing drugs or anything inappropriate” that afternoon. Lee told the friend nothing had happened.

After Lee’s death, investigators found a FaceTime call between him and Momeni’s sister.

“Just wanted to make sure your doing ok Cause I know nima came wayyyyyy down hard on you and thank you for being such a classy man handling it with class,” the sister texted. Love you selfish pricks.”

Witness 1 wasn’t sure if Lee had an intimate contact with Momeni’s sister, who is married but whose marriage was “in jeopardy.”

Momeni’s sister and husband attended Friday’s court session.

Surveillance footage shows Momeni arriving at his sister’s apartment at 8:31 p.m. on April 3, followed by Lee four hours later, according to court records. Cameras caught both men leave the flat 30 minutes before the murder.

The two guys drive to a rural region where prosecutors suspect the stabbing occurred.
