California Governor Jerry Brown has to face the issue regarding the water shortage at this current time in the Golden State.

Brown has stepped up to the plate to ensure that resources are not completely drained and has issued officials to start implying water restrictions upon residences of California for the first time ever in the state’s history.

The problem has spawned because this year’s snow level within the Sierra Nevada hit a new low after 65 years.

Brown has told the State Water Resources Control Board to start cutting back the water usage by 25 percent; the amount that was used back in 2013.

“We’re in a historic drought and that demands unprecedented action. We have to pull together and save water in every way we can,” exclaimed Brown.

The issue of water shortage has always concerned the residences and politicians of California. Brown first thought about preserving water back in 1977 where he also cut back the water usage by 25 percent, but since then he has made sure that the state kept an eye on their water handling by making sure they kept water in reserve for potential droughts.

Although these local storage facilities of water have helped the state, it has come to more desperate times.

Brown states, “We’re in a new era; the idea of your nice little green grass getting water every day, that’s going to be a thing of the past.”

By saying that, Brown believes that the harsh times could potentially continue if the state does not properly monitor resident’s habits.

Brown and his office are also working on implementing new legislations that will strictly enforce these new policies by fining anyone who chooses to disobey.
