Benghazi Panel Interviewing Members of Obama And Hilary Clinton’s Inner Circles

It was reported that a letter obtained by Rep. Elijah Cummings Friday by Fox News that a special congressional committee is going to be interviewing a host of current and former officials from both President Obama and Hillary Clinton’s inner circles.

The interviews conducted will be investigating the response to the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks, which killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Rep. Trey Gowdy released the names of those being investigated. Fox News claimed that amongst those names includes, former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney and current Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, as well as National Security Adviser Susan Rice; Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes; former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta; former CIA Director David Petraeus; former National Security Adviser Tom Donilon; former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell; and key State Department officials; the interviews will start to begin in April.

Although this process seems a little rushed, Gowdy stated, “I am announcing an ambitious timeline for interviews consistent with my plan to speed-up the pace of the investigation. I intend to stay with this schedule and will issue subpoenas if necessary,” with lower profiled personal being interviewed as early as February, with 20 people already testifying to date.

Rep. Elijah Cummings is the top Democrat on the Benghazi panel and the interviews plan on focusing on those who survived the attacks.

Gowdy went on to say in his letter to Cummings that he is able to, “provide indispensable firsthand accounts of what happened before, during, and after the attacks.”
