Barack Obama “Slow Jams” With Jimmy Fallon

Barack Obama is closing in on the last few months of his eight-year presidency. As the impending election stares us in the face, the current President of the United States has pledged his allegiance to the current Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Through the two terms that Obama has spent in the White House, he has proved himself to be a pop culture icon. He has appeared on multiple late-night TV shows, participated in sketches with prominent comedians, and cracked a few jokes of his own during his speeches – primarily, the one he makes annually at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Last year, he even had comedian Keegan-Michael Key appear beside him during the Dinner as Luther, his “anger translator”. So, when Jimmy Fallon sat down with the Commander in Chief himself on The Tonight Show last week, it was hardly a surprise.

Fallon is known for his musical sketches. He and Obama performed a skit where the President slow-jammed the highlights of his two terms in the Oval Office, accompanied by The Tonight Show’s band, The Roots.

Mr. Obama took to the stage with the support of a sexy instrumental and began by stating, “It’s been an honor and a privilege to serve as your president over the past eight years … When I first took office our nation was facing one of the worst recessions in its history. Since then we’ve added more than 14 million new jobs and lowered the unemployment rate to under five percent.”

Fallon chimed in, in typical slow jam fashion: “Oh, yeah, President Obama stimulated long-term growth in both the public and the private sector. In 2008 the country wasn’t feeling the mood, it was too tired and stressed, said it had a headache. Barack lit some candles and got some silky satin sheets and told the American people, ‘Yes, we can.’”

After the silliness had concluded, Barack Obama got serious and spoke to the current election climate. He recently gave his endorsement to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and he defended this decision during his interview with Jimmy Fallon. He communicated, once again, his distaste for presumptive GOP nominee Donald J Trump, and told late-night viewers about his plans to go on his first vacation in eight years.

The American public will surely miss Barack Obama and his family – even those who have been ardently against him from the beginning. #ThanksObama.
