On Wednesday, over three weeks after the deadly bombing of Austin, Texas, the exhaustive manhunt has finally come to an end upon finding a 23-year-old unemployed man to be the suspect. Mark Anthony Conditt, formerly a student at a local community college, was found in surveillance footage combined with other clues, drove himself into the ditch and ended his life with a blow.

Regarding this breakthrough, President Trump tweeted: “AUSTIN BOMBING SUSPECT IS DEAD. Great job by law enforcement and all concerned!”

Austin has been experiencing great tension and stress in the past weeks for the series of bombings that had been taking place. They have blown up on doorsteps, on a sidewalk, and in a FedEx shipping center, marking every location in Austin with threat and danger. Despite the relief of finding the suspect dead, authorities warned of already ambushed bombs that could blow up in the future due to the meticulous and thorough preparations made by the suspect.

Mr. Conditt was originally from near Pflugerville and his parents met with law enforcement authorities for hours, attempting to locate the whereabouts of Mr. Conditt. According to a longtime friend of the family, Donna Sebastian Harp, Mr. Conditt was nothing but quiet and

“nerdy” who came from a “tight-knit, godly family.” Before he attended Austin Community College, he was homeschooled by his mother, just like his three siblings.

The police are still investigating if there are any accomplices involved in the bombing incidents. So far, in Mr. Conditt’s parents’ homes, there has been no trace of explosives despite the police’s lingering suspicion and distrust.

According to involved authorities, the family of Conduit “wanted to express their condolences to the families of those who’ve been affected, and that will be reflected in the statement.” Throughout the investigation, the family has been extremely cooperative to the search and the blocks surrounding the house is still blocked off by the police as of today.

According to the neighbors, Mr. Conditt has always been “a loner” and spent most of his time with his parents. However, most agreed that he was always nice and his parents have never expressed concerns towards him in the past.

Despite his seemingly agreeable disposition, Mr. Conditt is believed to be responsible for at least six bombs in Austin, killing at least two people and injuring five. This series of attack started when a package bomb went off on the porch of Anthony Stephan House at the age of 39. Another bomb also detonated outside of a home, killing a 17-year-old man.

This was quickly followed by a package bomb which exploded outside another Austin home as well as more bombs found at the FedEx centers.

During the confrontation between the police force and the suspect himself, the section of Interstate 35 experienced a traffic nightmare that lasted for hours, stalling commuters who were unaware and had no idea of what was happening at the scene in front of them.

An aerial video of the area has been released on Wednesday morning, confirming the death of the suspect in a red sports utility vehicle with blown-out windows. Despite this confirmation of his death, the public is still haunted by the potential dangers of remaining bombs in the area. Mayor Steve Adler of Austin warned local residents to beware of suspicious packages and expressed positivity in the unity this series of bombing has brought within the community, hoping that every individual and families will continue to watch out for each other’s safety and security in the city.
